Maxx Performance Achieves Rigorous SQF Food Safety Code For Manufacturing Certification
October 31, 2018Maxx Performance, a leader in microencapsulation solutions for food and feed industries, recently added the new Safe Quality Food (SQF) Food Safety Code for Manufacturing certification to its list of accomplishments. This reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to meeting customers’ changing needs and providing high-quality materials in a certified production environment.
The SQF program is recognized by retailers and food service providers around the world as a rigorous, credible food safety management system, and is the only certification recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) for primary production, food manufacturing, distribution and agent/broker management. This enables suppliers to guarantee customers that food has been produced, processed, prepared and handled according to the highest possible standards.
“We place a premium on quality and food safety, and we want our manufacturing customers to know that,” said Winston Samuels, president of Maxx Performance. “This certification means they never have to worry about things like contamination, ingredient tampering and product recalls.”
Maxx Performance earned certification for the SQF Code Edition 8.0 with a grade of 97%, or Excellent. As part of the process, the company’s FDA-registered, 44,000 square foot manufacturing facility, as well as policies on everything from Food Defense and Crisis Management, to Employee Training and Sanitation policies, came under review. The certification was granted in April 2018 and Maxx will be audited again in April 2019.
